The Saints Research Fellowship

strives to develop leaders in educating boys by promoting best practices for teaching, curating resources, encouraging scholarly discussion, mentoring and conducting and sharing research.

About

The center selected seven research fellows, a talented and eclectic group of educators with diverse backgrounds and perspectives. The 2021-2023 Saints Research Fellows are Cynthia Brown, Kyle Burnette, Gracie Cuevas, Paula Marks, Emily Nason, Claudia Segneri and Hayden Vick. During the next two years, they will foster a professional learning community. Participation centers on once-a-month meetings that include scholarly conversation, training on how to conduct targeted and relevant research and an opportunity to report on their findings.

The current focus is on curating resources related to the cognitive, academic and socio-emotional development of boys across the K-12 educational landscape. Each fellow has identified several articles which undergo an evaluation process before being submitted for consideration by the team. Ultimately, what is gained from this process will be disseminated to the faculty to translate research to practice. This work is intentionally designed with ongoing feedback to grow a culture of teachers as researchers who are experts in the ways boys learn best.
